A-Frame Winders

Generally chosen for large or "jumbo" diameter rolls of 48-72", A-Frame winder is best situated for 1 or 2-up winding. The web is wound onto a shaft that mounts on an "A-Frame" cart. The cart not only is used for winding, but can be transported directly to thermoforming operations and be used to unwind the roll. Because of this, the A-Frame design serves as an ideal solution for transporting wound rolls to an offline system within the facility. However, for storage or transport off site, for optional pneumatic core rods (versus a fixed arbor configuration) the shaft must be manually removed and reattached to the cart for use again in the extrusion process.

Cantilevered

Winding system where material is wound onto a roll supported on only one side, but with additional support mechanisms to handle heavier loads and maintain stability.

Automatic Turret Winders

PTi provides a selection of inline shears and stacking systems designed to effectively accommodate a comprehensive range of cut sheet production applications.

Multi-position turret style winder for dual lane winding equipped with dual arms for unloading wound rolls (2-up winding)
Sheet accumulators provide a safe method of handling webs at '0' speed or slowed to a reduced speed
