AntiSTAT™ TRC vs. eAntiSTAT™ Coaters

Model choice is dependent on the specific downstream application requirements. For instance, in printing applications where too much silicone can negatively affect performance, the precision control of the AntiSTAT™ TRC is the best choice. The eAntiSTAT™ is an excellent solution for inline thermoforming, where sheet is moved directly thru an oven, or for any application that does not require critical coating tolerances.

AntiSTAT™ (Antistatic Transfer Roll Coater)

PTi’s solution to electro-statically charged sheet is resolved with a combination of anti-static bars and its patented technology of the anti-static sheet coating system (#8,342,118). The unit permits anti-static solutions to be applied to packaging grade sheet prior to thermoforming in order to minimize the static charge in the resulting container, cup, or lid.

This patented model uses transfer roll technology to apply coating medium which is dispersed into a squeegee/transfer roll nip, applied to the transfer roll, and then is applied uniformly to the sheet via the transfer roll.

eAntiSTAT™ (Antistatic Transfer Roll Coater)

PTi’s base model, eAntiSTAT™, applies the coating medium directly onto the sheet via sparger tubes. Excess medium is removed by neoprene squeegee rolls. Unlike basic immersion (bath style) coaters, the eAntiSTAT™ technology enables processors to apply coating medium to the top side, the bottom side, or both sides of the sheet. Web path does not change for pass-thru; sparger pumps can be turned on or off when bypassed.
